The thing that worries me the most about this picture is the dates on the tomb: 33, 000 B.C. - 2005 AD. Now I know some fans were very upset about a certain six month gap, but a four year gap! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/eek.gif I'm starting to get worried!!

Yeah, I noticed that too. A four-year gap would just plain suck! It would explain why they look so radically different, but not in a good way. It worries me too.
Hey, what does everyone think of what we've seen of the new costumes. They're very, um, yellow and black. I dunno how Nighty will look in yellow....

The solicitation said that human kind is in danger of extinction within half a decade. Presumably, the X-Men are going to work to prevent it. I doubt this cover represents an actual scene in the book.
Yeah, I don't know how I feel about the life-preserver look. Kinda weird. I like Beast's little 18th century ascot-thingy, though. He looks very debonnaire. NO idea why they thought he needed a species makeover, though.
I dunno, I'm probably the only one who is really excited about this new stuff, but I can't help it, I just am. Quitely and Morrison are both so talented that they could give Xavier a toupee and put Logan in a zoot suit and I probably wouldn't care. My X-Men addiction was starting to seem like a real ball and chain for a while, so the prospect of actually enjoying an issue and being able to admire its quality has a certain seductive charm, kind of like the thought of Methadone to a fed-up junky. Hearing Claremont's atrocious prose in the mouth of my favorite character in the whole world was just killing me. I think a big overhaul is necessary to make these books good again; a certain amount of reinventing is required. The details may not make us uniformly happy, but this is my philosophy: Morrison, Casey, do whatever the hell you want, just MAKE THE PAIN STOP!
Sorry for the rant. I really like that image up there. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

That's Quitely's version of the X-Men...soon to be seen monthly in the pages of New X Men. I'll keep my own opinion to myself for now, to see if you all align with me. What do you think?

What do I think?
AWFUL!
Wolvie looks like a Village People reject for starters, I honestly didn't think Emma Frost's costume could get any sluttier (and I'm proven wrong again)Beast just looks like a blue dog, and the others look like extras off Aeon Flux! Eurgh!
Ugly ugly ugly!

Emma's costume! I mean, that tacticaly placed zipper! Sheesh. And thanks Ovenmit, now I will never be able to look at this drawing again without bursting in laughter. Oh the humanity of it all! Oh wait. This expression will be terminated in 2005. Oh the mutanity of it all!
As much as I hate to admit it, I actually secretly like this setup. But I will not say anything defenite about it before I've seen it in print!

When I first saw the pic, I was really shocked. Now that I've had a few days to digest it, it's not as bad. I don't really know how I feel about it, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I think I can get used to Beast's look faster than Wolvie going shirtless! That just strikes me as odd.
Kurt in a yellow costume: At least it would bring out his eyes! (ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...I love bad jokes!)
I never give much credence to Marvel dates. "Days of Future Past" supposedly takes place 2013 where Kate Pryde is in her forties (?). It's 2001, and Kitty is only about 18. She's got a lot of aging to do in 12 years!
"mutanity" - *giggle* That's cute!

Some of the character designs for Evolution had Kurt in yellow. I like the red better, myself.
Oops. Should work now...

Thanks Sheemy! That's not so bad! It doesn't look that far off from what Quitely appears to be doing. If Churchhill follows suit (pun intended) that's not bad at all. I could see adult Kurt in that outfit with no problems.
Yay! Cover of Whizzer! I'll definitely have to pick that one up!!!!
I'd really like to see a promo from Churchhill before then though! Maybe he's working on one. *crosses finger, toes and tail*

Maybe this would be a good time for the return of the original Thunderbird and instead of going after Destiny's diaries him and Wolvy could head off in search of a construction worker and a sailor!!
Uh-oh I feel a song coming on.....
X-Men
There's no need to feel jeered,
I said, X-Men
'Cause your hated and feared,
I said, X-Men
'Cause you are a new race
There's no need to be pers-e-cut-ed..
X-Men
There's a place you can go,
I said, X-Men
When you're powers start to show,
You can stay there
And I'm sure you will find,
Many ways to have a good time..
It's fun to stay at the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters (It dosn't really have the same ring to it does it? And I bet the dance is a right bitch!!!)

LOL! Too funny, Mit! I tried to come up with a X-MCA song when someone on the Wizard World board posted the Village People pics saying they were the new X-Men line-up; it didn't turn out nearly as funny as yours!!
